An antique Persian Tabriz Pictorial rug. In an interior with the curtains drawn back, a young prince on a high-backed throne receives a circular ornament from a traditionally dressed maiden, all against the old ivory ground, and framed by a simple angular undulating vine. The male’s garb could be Persian, Indian or southeast Asian, but the rug is from a Persian urban workshop.
