An antique Turkish Oushak carpet.The field design of this large-pattern Oushak from western Turkey is spaciously organized around three columns of Yaprak (“leaf”) lozenges and ragged palmettes on the salmon-tan field. The design has roots in the 18th century. The weave is coarse and the pile is thick.
