Antique American Hook Rug

An antique American Hook rug. All squares, larger ones with a colorful marbled tweed design and smaller ones in black, middle blue, red and a speckled ecru and black. The pattern has a chessboard or diagonal composition depending on how you view the pierce and the polychrome squares tend to recede as the solid color composite sections visually advance.
