An antique American Hook rug. Strong black gridwork sets up the vertical and horizontal striped squares (basketwork”) in a virtually infinite array of non-repeating colors.  If you don’t like the arrangement, just turn it around and a new one appears. Not quite a “Log Cabin” design, but it has the same sort of colorific appeal.
