A wool pile of asymmetric knots on a cotton foundation. This k’ang-format piece, of double-square length, shows a red field with three moon medallions: the central rendered in a concentric scale pattern, and the two flanking examples in purple-grey with inner octagrams. Wreathed octagons, flowering shrubs, and cloud knots accent the field. The corner spandrels are in the fret style, the inner and outer borders are Turkmen in character, and the central main border is purple-grey with flip-flop flowers.
