Antique Indo-Tabriz Carpet

This light background Indian rug following the format of Persian rugs from Tabriz displays an allover repeating floral pattern within a linked smooth palmette dark blue border.  In the field, the dark brown trellis undergirding the pattern has become particularly apparent, giving it a firm structure. The pattern is offset at the ends, but laterally balanced. Furniture placement is a cinch, but monumental furnishings are best on such a huge rug.
