An antique Persian Heriz carpet. The sandy ivory field displays a centralized pattern of angular red and green arabesques and stiff vines, punctuated by palmettes and fringed leaves. The well-abrashed brown border features narrow, serrated turtle palmettes and bent, sawtooth leaves. A very attractive rustic carpet from a famous weaving district in NW Persia in an unusual size and desirable tonality.
