An antique Persian Kerman Saddle Cover. This round top SE Persian finely woven over-the-saddle cover has a curved slit for the back of the saddle. The navy field has rows of fringed botehs with attached vine segments within a cochineal red floral main border. This is a well-preserved, rarely used traditional horseman’s ceremonial artefact. Saddle covers are either square (as in rug #25119) or round topped (as in rug # 25120).
