An antique Persian Kurdish rug. Diagonal stripes, all with the same popular repeating cross-in-lozenge motif, but in varying tones of sky blue, pale green, umber, sienna and red, completely fill the field while the wide border system has bands of octagons and fan palmettes. This Persian rural long rug was woven in Kurdistan in the far west of the country.
