An antique Persian Lavar Kerman carpet. This might really be a Lavar carpet from the famous weaving town near Kerman. The ivory field has a dense, allover rose and garland offset pattern. The effect is that of a fine textile rather than a knotted carpet. The rose motif reappears in the very narrow ivory main border. This is a closely woven special carpet for the real connoisseur of Persian weaving. All the dyes are natural.
