An antique Persian Lavar Kerman carpet. Eight pairs of dramatic serrated lancet leaves dominate the rust ground with its beige palmettes and lesser rosettes. The pattern derives, at several removes, from 17^th century Kerman carpets. The well-abrashed main border places palmettes within pairs of lancet leaves on this SE Persian city carpet.
