An antique Persian Malayer carpet. A tiny camel and ecru lattice and lozenge diaper pattern fill the field of this Hamadan area carpet. The camel tone is a Hamadan touchstone and the yellow-camel border with its hand-shaped ivory flowers is another feature leading us to a village weaver working nearer the town rather than to Malayer. An attractive, authentic West Persian village carpet in any case.
