An antique Persian Mazlagan rug. This boldly geometric village rug from the Greater Hamadan weaving area displays the characteristic lightning bolt zig-zag pattern on a red/rose speckled sub-field and surrounding the royal blue medallion. The dark blue field corners display octagons and the iconic main border features progressive ‘bug’ palmettes. Graphics power and pattern have been sacrificed to impact. More than a Malayer, it is a Mazlagan!
