An antique Persian Tabriz carpet. What to call this pattern? Hats, crowns, large petal palmettes. Anyway, the design is unique and one directional on the ivory ground. Looks Kerman, but the weave and strip end borders mark it as a Tabriz. Botehs alternate with fat cones in the ecru border. This rug seems to have been designed as a special commission and we have seen no others with the pattern.
