Antique Persian Tabriz Carpet

An antique Persian Tabriz carpet. A giant lozenge medallion explodes across the royal blue field with a profusion of leafy lappets and projections.  Internal palmettes mark the cardinal directions and en suite corners balance the outward energy. The blue border has geometrically rendered tulips and embracing leaves.  This is one of the more visually exciting Tabriz carpets of the early 20th century.
