Antique Persian Tabriz Garden Carpet

An antique Persian Tabriz Garden carpet. This urban carpet is an ingenious interpretation of the four sections Persian garden (Chahar Bagh) carpet. The watercourses have turned ivory with palmette decoration and the rust, light grey-blue, and ivory parterre panels have sprouted spring flowers. The ivory cartouche and octofoil border have classical antecedents. All in all, an attractive rendition of a traditional theme with easy to live with colors.
