An antique Turkish Oushak rug. Oushak does Mahal. The ivory field of this 1920’s Oushak is thoroughly in the contemporaneous Mahal taste with an ivory field displaying a lozenge lattice whose panels employ rosette or branching tulip centers. The taupe turtle palmette border also follows Persian design conventions, but here the pile is longer and more relaxed.
