Vintage Central Asian Turkoman Room Size Carpet

A wool pile of asymmetric knots on a wool foundation. The pale beige to light-camel field displays a three-by-five array of quartered, octagonal Ongurghe tribal guls in ivory, muted teal-blue, blue-grey, tan, and soft brown, with small diamond-shaped secondary guls filling the intervening spaces. The narrow, strip-style main border, on an ivory to pale beige ground, features closely alternating two-toned X motifs and crosses in teal-blue, tan, and brown.
