Vintage Egyptian Pictorial Throw Rug

A wool pile of asymmetric knots on a cotton foundation. The sandy goldenrod field depicts the Weighing of a Soul, with Anubis, Thoth, and other deities in attendance, arranged in an ancient Egyptian–style frieze. Quasi-hieroglyphs appear above the figures. An upper panel shows seated gods, including Osiris, who appears again within his own pavilion panel at the right. A narrow medium blue border with bars and rectangles frames the composition. This pictorial wall hanging is woven on a short warp.
