Vintage Persian Afshar Rug

A vintage Persian Afshar rug. A pole medallion of three conjoint hooked straw diamonds centers the light blue-grey step-waisted sub—sub-field with a decoration of lazy S’s and rosettes. The inclusive straw subfield shows triple triangles at each end, and the pale blue-grey ground presents more rosettes and chevron-leaf lateral implicit stripes. The general tonality is mellow and the weave is low-pile but solid.
