Vintage Persian Afshar Rug

A vintage Persian Afshar rug. In a classic SE Persian Afshar tribal style, but here the blue-grey central panel supports three columns of three hooked hexagons each in cream, and pale blue-grey, with simple cogwheel rosettes, closely scattered about. The enclosing straw subfield shows triple cruciform finials at each end and the blue-grey surrounding field repeats the small star rosettes. The straw border features floating rosettes and slanted, serrated leaves on a meander.
