A vintage Persian Bakhtiari rug from the mid-20th century. Looks like a Heriz with its rust field, ivory corners, 16 point blue-black medallion with an ivory 12 point sub-medallion, a generally geometric floral pattern. The detail tones include salmon, light blue and green. The brown border of this central Persian Chahar Mahal rug shows two types of reversing palmettes and angled serrated leaves. A well-woven rug with a brisk tonality. The eternal popularity of Heriz rugs probably induced the weavers to imitate the style.
