A vintage Persian Flat-weave Kilim rug from the mid-20th century. The three sections are not quite tonally identical: while the two flanking panels are almost strictly ivory and black (other than 1 red strip on the right panel), the center strip adds randomly spaced yellow lines. This weft-faced tribal piece has no borders, making the orientation even easier. A very intricate honeycomb design is woven where the dark and light stripes join. You often won't see this in nomadic Kilim rugs due to the excessive time it would take to weave this pattern. The weaver was definitely paying attention to detail here and also followed through with his imagination instead of being lazy and creating straight stripes across the entire rug which is the norm for these nomadic rugs. Also, this Kilim having 4 colors instead of being monotone is a nice unique touch as well by this weaver from his time period.
