Vintage Persian Gabbeh Rug

A vintage Persian Gabbeh rug. Somewhat similar to, but substantially more worn than rug # 25204, this Qashqai tribal carpet from southwest Persia features rosettes I the ivory border, the abrashed and striated red field, the dark blue corner, and in the salmon-buff central hexagon sub-medallion. Inner and outer borders employ simple triangles. The format is quite uncommon for a nomadic weaver. The field is red rather than rose.
