A vintage Persian Karajeh runner. Layered, stepped corners center the classic Karaja pattern of hooked hexagons and octogrammes on the taupe ground with a supporting scatter fill of semi-geometric floral forms. The abrashed brown border displays dot-bud squares and stiff leaves in a pattern popular in the Heriz region, where Karaja is a border town. From the 19th century onwards.’
