A vintage Persian Lavar Kerman runner. The light beige field of this SE Persian runner displays repeating small octogramme and five posy motives within a framing, no-straight lines, Rococo border of pistachio and ivory swelling and relaxing lobate protrusions. Hard to describe. Kerman rugs resemble nothing else from Persia (or India or Turkey). ‘Lavar’ here is a statement of quality, rather than of place of origin or age.
