Vintage Persian Malayer Rug

A vintage Persian Malayer rug. Four huge freely floating palmettes with knob edges and rust details are set in a rust serrated leaf broken lattice on a pale blue-grey hexagonal subfield. The ivory-beige conjoint corners feature color sampler palmettes. The whole effect is strongly Heriz, semi-geometric, but with a softer palette.  The pale pearl border features slanted leaves in rust, dark brown and cream on this small west Persian village scatter. Rust is the major detail color.
