A vintage Persian Malayer rug. The abrashed mid-blue field features one of the most popular and effective west Persian Malayer village patterns with octagons, jagged and bent leaves, tilted palmettes and lazy cartouches, with rust, ivory and buff details. The motives are more widely spaced toward one end of the field. The straw border presents a strong rust brown vine with ragged pyramidal palmettes.
