Vintage Persian Malayer Runner

A wool pile of symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. The grey-brown field carries a typical allover Herati design that continues, in fragmented form, into the serrated triangular ecru spandrels. A beige border displays hexagons enclosing rotating S-motifs. The field may also be read as ecru, running very narrowly along the sides and widening at the corners.
