Vintage Persian Malayer Runner

A wool pile of symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. The light slate sub-field is notched or stepped along all sides and features a repeating pattern of geometric rosettes, palmettes, leaves, and open hexagons. The surrounding sandy-straw field includes triangular corners with rosettes and bent leaves. A pale slate-grey border frames the composition with a hooked trapezoidal meander and hooked filler triangles.
