This 1930s Mashad has a beige field ornamented with botehs (paisley design), palmettes, and spiraling arabesque vines with a central organizing small rosette center. The navy border alternates palmettes with boteh-leaves. The border and field motives are in the same scale. The light ground makes this Mashad rug from Persia look larger and more spacious.
