Vintage Persian Sarouk Rug

A vintage Persian Sarouk rug. The pale tan abrashed open field displays a few small turtle-palmettes-like devices, but the real design action occurs in the elaborate old ivory corners with their orange-red inner shapes and complex arabesques. The weave is fine and compact on this unusual west Persian village rug with a brown string border decorated with a chain of tiny dots.
