Vintage Persian Tabriz Pictorial Rug

A vintage Persian pictorial Tabriz rug. An opium den, Persian style. Four dervishes, in various stages of inebriation, are skillfully depicted on this fine weave, city pictorial. A samovar and teapots rest on a brick platform to the rear. Opium smoking is a traditional habit in much of Iran, even today. This rug must have a photograph or print as a design source.
