Vintage Persian Textile

Wool pattern warps and wefts on a warp- and weft-faced plainweave. This slightly larger example shows very minimal offsetting in a bitonal red and near-black plaid reminiscent of a North Woods lumberjack check, with associated twill and herringbone color mixing. There may be no forests around Shiraz, but the spirit is still present. Suitable for dissection into pillows or cushions, or for use intact as a bedcover or wall hanging, perhaps even in a Yukon cabin.
