A vintage Persian Veece rug. The weavers are working from a basic Caucasian model of three rectangular panels on an old ivory field, adding long blue intervening cartouches and central motives with a Turkmen flavor. Birds appear in the central panels and at the field ends, while the lemon yellow border displays rosettes in a semi-Caucasian style on this well-woven stylistic amalgam.
