Vintage Turkish Anatolian Carpet

On the well-abrashed red/rust field, a volute edged beige octagram is suspended and positioned by black stepped and hooked slanted chains. The weavers have achieved real tension between the floating medallion and the fixed, framing border. Abrashed light border of a cross-in-diamond chain, wider on one side. All in all, a striking rustic room size with a wool warp and medium-coarse knotting. A good example of post-WWII Anatolian village work.
