Vintage Turkish Anatolian Throw Rug

A wool pile of symmetric knots on a wool foundation. The taupe-brown field encloses an ornate ivory and cream cartouche, outlined in gray-blue, coral, and dark brown, and centered by a semi-realistic European-style floral bouquet in shades of coral, salmon, gray-blue, brown, black, ivory, and red. Floral and foliate motifs decorate the field corners. The main ivory-ground, strip-style border displays polychrome flowering sprays and dark scrolling foliage. Brown eteks, or extra end panels, feature ivory zigzag patterns and small quartered rosettes.
