Vintage Turkish Oushak Small Room Size Carpet

A vintage Turkish Oushak small room size carpet handmade during the mid-20th century. This Oushak takes its bold pattern of thick, angular vines, bent sawtooth leaves, and big palmettes almost verbatim from Persian Heriz carpets, but the soft neutral colored ground is decidedly Oushak. The soft purple main border seems to be unique with its peculiar palmettes and stiff connecting vines. The Oushak handle is lighter and more pliable than Heriz work.
