A vintage Turkish Sivas carpet. Three columns of ivory floriated cartouches define the allover field pattern of this urban eastern Turkish city carpet. A closer look reveals more cartouches to give an extremely dense overall coverage. The tonality is disciplined with charcoal, wine red, and grey-green accents. The zig-zag border repeats the delicacy and hues of the field. An excellent dining room rug which hides spills and allows good table/chair placement.
