A wool pile of symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. A visual pair to rug # 33430. An ecru border composed of four radiating-leaf motifs frames the dark brown field, which displays two confronting lions in ivory, beige, taupe, and gray-brown. Their pelts are heavily streaked in darker brown tones and outlined in red-orange. Both lions have upraised, hooked tails. Originally woven as a small yastik, or cushion cover. One of a pair, as yastiks were generally made in pairs.
