An antique Caucasian Karabagh rug. A single, huge red oval cartouche medallion encloses an elaborate rose and flower bouquet, all on a black field with ivory Rococo flower corners. The borders are slightly less Occidental with rosettes and connecting vines. This is a “Russian style” Karabagh rather than a more geometric type.
