Antique Caucasian Kazak Rug

An antique Caucasian Kazak rug. This totally iconic SW Caucasian rug shows five boxes with internal hooked sub-medallions, alternating in red and ivory, on a crisp cerulean blue ground with a square-shouldered floating niche at each end.  The ivory main border of this relatively high pile piece has rectangles with hooked corners. This rug seems older than a 20^th century dating. Outstanding blue.
