Antique East Turkest Khotan Carpet

An antique East Turkestan Khotan carpet. The soft rust field has the classic Khotan three medallion layout: two circular brown “moon” discs with smaller, internal roundels, vertically flanking a central motif with a grey wreath of curly double hooks. Small chessboard squares float in the field, and the fret corners and narrow rainbow inner border pay homage to Chinese sources.
