Antique Persian Isfahan Carpet

An antique Persian Isfahan carpet. There is really no distinct field color, but instead an allover display of horizontal and vertical long brown and slate cartouches in a large basket weave pattern with smaller ‘T’ shaped ivory fillers. The abrashed brown border of this well-woven central Persian city carpet slips cloud bands into a dense array of palmettes and foliate elements.
