Antique Indian Amritsar Carpet

An antique Indian Amritsar carpet. Totally in the 17^th century Mughal Lahore design style, with the addition of a medium blue field, this extremely inviting Indian carpet displays carefully rendered flowering plants adapted from botanical illustrations in both fields and particularly broad rich red main border. The whole effect is that of a garden in full bloom. Inspired by Hendley’s book on the Jaipur Palace carpets from around 1915.
