An antique Indian Agra carpet. This attractively light toned northern Indian workshop Agra has a semi-geometric scalloped oval medallion and corners adapted from Persian Heriz rugs, extending even to the lancet leaves and rough palmettes of the field. The lavender main border with green accents displays two palmette varieties. The sandy field, lavender medallion, and buff corners are not in the Heriz color tradition at all. The drawing goes with any palette.
