An antique Persian Mahal rug. The ivory ground of this sampler (wagireh) displays a very colorful flower and leaf pattern with a dominant dark red vine moving diagonally with other, lesser, but still, mobile polychrome blossoming tendril segments. A whole rug in a very small package with a wide, saturated tonal range.
