An antique Indian Lahore carpet. This northern Indian (now Pakistan) workshop city carpet has an earth-tone, abrashed palette featuring medium brown, beige, tan, sandy cream. The gently lobed medallion has an arabesque pattern and escutcheon pendants with en-suite corners. The brown border shows cypress trees with dense millefleurs sections between. The palette is close to contemporaneous Tabriz carpets while the style is more in the Kerman manner.
