An antique Indian Lahore carpet. The deep wine-brown field displays an allover palmette pattern accented in light rust and ivory, framed by a medium blue main border with more palmettes in the same colorway. This enormous north India city carpet was specially commissioned by an affluent client and certainly is far beyond the ordinary in its dimensions and proportions.
