An antique Indian Lahore carpet. This huge northern Indian workshop large carpet displays a well-drawn Shah ‘Abbas pattern of erect and lazy detailed leafy yet rough palmettes, wiggling cloud bands, and wiry vinery sections, all on the gently abrashed mustard yellow ground. The sapphire blue main border shows in -and - out palmettes in the classical Indo-Isfahan style. Detail tones include orange-rust, red, medium blue and cream.
